Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from University Canada West to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.


Students in this program wish to understand contemporary organizations, their work culture and the role of HR within the Canadian workplace. Taking a research based approach, students can participate in and contribute to the development of strategies, policies, procedures, required to successfully operate in a business context. Students also critically examine the key OBHR tools considered as set of business “best practices” to support and advise managers/leaders, employees to be successful in the Canadian work environment.

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the students and the organization.


Some final project deliverables might include:

  1. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations

Project examples

Students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.


Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:


  • Critiquing and comparing organizational culture, structure, change, team dynamics and communication of leading organizations for growth and sustainability.
  • Integrating OB and HRM industry-specific best practices to develop/ design organizational level policies and recommendations.
  • Creating a career development plan as part of career readiness that includes strategic Canadian HR policies and practices.
